Are you convinced yet that we LOVE any red carpet and the fabulous gowns that make their way along the event runway? This year’s Met Gala, did not disappoint! With the theme of PUNK: Chaos To Couture, there were plenty of metallics, studs, black and chains on the red carpet, but we were pleasantly surprised to find beautiful, intricate white gowns making an appearance. While these designs are certainly couture, and far from practical, we’d be interested to see if some of these cutting-edge style elements make their way into wedding dress trends for future seasons.

Santa Barbara Wedding

We feel so lucky to be able to travel for events, and this particular out of town wedding has an extra special place in our hearts. Set in beautiful Santa Barbara, California, friends and family (including us!) came from all over the U.S. to share a sun and celebratory filled weekend as Meghan and Jason tied the knot. Taking inspiration from the Montecito Country Club ‘s sprawling lush grounds, we played with plummy charcoals and metallics with soft petal, peach and ivory tones for florals and accents. The warmth of the sunset ceremony carried over into a candlelight flooded reception. Enjoy the photos by Patrick Moyer below!

Creative Cookies

While we cherish all our weddings, we also plan quite a few social and corporate events each year. We find that birthday parties, anniversaries and mitzvahs really bring out a creative side when planning the celebration. Photos and photo booths are such a big trend and fun activity at events, and these cookies below are not only delicious, but compliment that concept. Why not offer themed cookies to use as edible accessories in your next photo booth, to pass out Emoticon cookies to your guests like your sending them personal text messages, or even incorporate your favorite Instagram moments, printed on personalized cookie-grams?

A few other fun, inspiring ideas: Calendar cookies to represent the significance of a birthdate, or anniversary. Make different batches that mark the day you and your loved one met, your wedding date, when you bought a home together, commemorating significant moments in your lives together. And how cute are these cookies complete milk glass perch? Lastly, cookies designed to look like s’mores (we hope they taste like them too!) are a fun teaser, and less messy than the real thing!

Winter Wedding

We have been so lucky to be a part of over ten years of weddings at the historic landmark, The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle. The elegant details of the building, stunning marble pillars and oak paneling all evoke a classic and timeless luxury that we associate with fine hotels. This preeminent hotel served as the perfect backdrop to our young couple’s dreams of a winter wonderland wedding. While we don’t always look to the Country Music scene for iconic fashion moments, we see that the embellished, metallic trend has made it’s way onto the likes of beautiful Taylor Swift and Jewel at the Academy of Country Music Awards, down the purple carpet no less! Really any event with glitter and gowns will catch our attention, and these gold hued dresses don’t disappoint. We are particularly fond of what we are calling the Rose Gold gown on Jewel, although this look does dance on the line of pageant or prom, but she pulls it off!
